JACKSON

In November 2014, Jackson County began the process of updating the Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) in concert with the Jackson County Comprehensive Plan. A Jackson County Steering Committee has been selected representing a broad cross-section of stakeholders. The planning process typically takes about two years; we began near the end of 2014 and will wrap up in late 2016 or early 2017.

A local study of the NC 107 Corridor through the Town of Sylva was recently completed. Southwestern RPO worked with local elected officials, county and town staff, citizens and business owners, and NCDOT Division 14 to examine the corridor and make recommendations for a context sensitive design for a future project (R-5600).
